Meet J. Bert Freeman, author of Taking Charge of Your Positive Direction
Positive Direction Expert, J. Bert Freeman is the author of Taking Charge of Your Positive Direction (Trafford 2006). His quest is to help everyone expand their capacity to make positive direction a consistent part of their lives. In the mid 1980’s, J. Bert Freeman created skills called Verbal POSITIVE APPROACH™. As a result, he founded T.A.L.K. Associates in 1987. Since then, his work evolved into CONSISTENT POSITIVE DIRECTION™, yet a higher dimension of Human Interaction. Over the years his programs have helped a lot of people and organizations with forward movement and continuous improvement. Consistent Positive Direction became his life’s work through seminars, professional speaking, coaching, everyday use and his book. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Masters Degree in Human Relations from Golden Gate University. In 1972, J. Bert Freeman was a U.S. National Champion and a member of the U.S. Olympic Fencing Team in Munich.

He is a member of the National Speakers Association, the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the American Society for Training and Development, the Delaware Workforce Diversity Group (President 2000-2003), the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, Toastmasters International and he is a Distinguished Educator consultant with the State of Delaware Department of Education. He has authored numerous school and district program evaluations, a longitudinal study sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and articles about organizational unity of effort in a positive direction.

J. Bert Freeman created Consistent Positive Direction and Unity of Effort frameworks that have been used by and presented to organizations including The DuPont Company, Wilmington Trust Company, the Delaware Division of Social Services, Departments of Education and Labor, The U.S. Army Test Center at Aberdeen Maryland, The Avon Distribution Center, The University of Delaware Center for Disabilities Studies, W.L. Gore Associates, Inc. and more. In recent years he has been a guest instructor at Delaware State University, Drexel University, University of Delaware, Elizabeth City State University, Lincoln University, Cheyney University and North Carolina Central University in leadership, Consistent Positive Direction and workplace respect.
